OVERVIEW
Kadri Pärnamets offers ceramic hand-building classes for adults in the Fall, Winter, and Spring on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-8pm. Classes are all-levels, no experience needed, and provide a great way to get familiar with ceramics and spend time with your fellow students from the local community. With a free-flowing structure, Kadri will start you off with a small ball of clay to start your ceramics journey. She then provides step-by-step instruction and or gentle guidance to help you learn various techniques through your chosen projects. While this is a drop-in class, each project may take multiple weeks to complete no matter how small, so we suggest signing up for a few classes to ensure you complete your projects.
PRICING
- Each class is $25
- Bisque and glaze firings are included in the $25 base fee.
- Cone 6 stoneware clay, underglazes, glazes, and tools for small projects are included in the cost.
- Larger projects must be approved by Kadri to assess additional material costs. These costs are determined on a case-by-case basis.
WHAT TO EXPECT
- Guidance and instructions are provided to all students simultaneously as needed. Just raise your hand and Kadri will come to you unless she’s working with another student.
- Classes are meant to inform and educate–they are not open studio classes, but guided exploration.
- Several classes will be needed to finish pieces.
- All pieces are bisque and glaze-fired by Kadri, however there is no set firing schedule. Pieces will be fired when there is enough work to fill a kiln.
